Community Outreach Day

College of Pharmacy students provide free health services around Albuquerque and the state

On Friday, The University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy hosted its annual Community Outreach Day. Each year, College of Pharmacy students provide free health services on UNM's campus, around the Albuquerque metro area and the state. They provided services ranging from flu shots and health screenings to HIV testing and dementia screenings.

In its sixth year, Outreach Day is a community service initiative that was created by UNM student pharmacists with the primary objective of providing health services and education to the people of New Mexico. Last year, College of Pharmacy students reached nearly 4,000 people across the Land of Enchantment, including nearly 2,800 flu vaccines that were given.
