Community Outreach Day, a student-led effort created in 2012 by two UNM pharmacy students, brings the entire pharmacy student body together every October to provide one massive effort to deliver health information and services to the people of New Mexico. Activities include free immunizations, screenings and educational services to communities throughout the state.

Scheduled every October during American Pharmacist Month, the event exposes students to, and encourages them to participate in, community service, while increasing the public's awareness of the role of pharmacists in health care. In its first year, Community Outreach Day reached 3,142. In 2016, more than 6,800 people through 45 sites in 12 cities in New Mexico benefitted from these free services.
