Kristopher Jackson, nurse practitioner and PhD candidate, University of New Mexico School of Nursing, received an honorable mention in the contest. His work is titled “Empathy and Expletives.”
The UNM Leadership and Involvement Awards recognize students who have excelled in leadership, as well as academic and co-curricular activities. This year winners included four of our nursing students: Anjelica Caldwell, Siena Magana, Nina Morales and Tiffany Torres.
BSN student, Brandon Thompson, is making his mark in nursing research. His approved research topic “Disorders of the Integumentary System: How to recognize and assess in Non-Hispanic African Americans” will be published in a medical jounal May 2021.

Stefani Strong, BSN Class of Spring 2020, was recognized as Clauve Awardee for Outstanding UNM Seniors in academic success and campus leadership. Stefani exemplifies what it means to be a Lobo Nurse.
