The CTSC is pleased to promote the collaboration of New Mexico companies in the biotechnology arena. This unique event provides opportunities for learning and networking between New Mexico’s “bio” companies, investors/angels, and UNM faculty and inventors.
BioVenture is open to all with interests in New Mexico’s bioscience and biotechnology landscape along with UNM scientists and researchers for an afternoon of networking, inspiring innovations, and connecting with promising partnerships. Awards and prizes provided by local sponsors.
Leading Biomedical Technologies
CTSC hosted the fourth annual BioVenture Partnership Event on Friday, November 11, 2022, spotlighting cutting-edge research and technologies from UNM researchers and local life science companies.
“BioVenture is a about fostering relationships in our local life sciences community, connecting people with resources, and learning about academic innovation and early-stage product development” said BioVenture Committee Chair, Eric Prossnitz, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor of Internal Medicine and Chief of the Division of Molecular Medicine.
Graduate student, Andoza Jamus, won the “People’s Choice” award for best scientific poster on research for vaccines against chlamydia trachomatis.
Judges awarded Best Pitch to Michelle A. Ozbun, Ph.D. an expert in HPV biology, for her research on “Topical MEK Inhibitors for Treating Human Papillomavirus (HPV)-Induced Warts & Pre-Cancers”.
