Biography
Dr. Alkhouri completed her medical school with from Jordan University for Science and Technology ,Irbid-Jordan. Following this she completed her Pediatric Residency and Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Buffalo, Buffalo, NY.
Personal Statement
Post her Fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, she worked as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Digestive Diseases and Nutrition Center, University of Buffalo Buffalo, NY, then at Presbyterian medical group, and finally she joined the University of New Mexico as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in August 2019.

Dr. Alkhouri' s special interests include Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Advanced endoscopy.
Achievements & Awards
Board certified in both American Board of Pediatrics. and American Board of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Awarded young investigator award as a Junior Faculty by NASPGHAN for her bench research on paraoxinase gene expression and oxidative stress in inflammatory bowel disease.
Received Faculty service Award at UNM in 2023.
