Biography

Dr. Alonso-Marsden received a B.S. degree in Journalism with a major in Psychology (2006) from Northwestern University. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Psychology (2017) from Duke University. She completed her predoctoral internship (2015) and postdoctoral fellowship (2019) in Child Clinical Psychology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.

Personal Statement

Dr. Alonso-Marsden is interested in the etiology of and evidence-based interventions for childhood trauma, mood disruption, and externalizing disorders. She is also interested in public policies related to prevention and early intervention as well as reducing ethnic disparities in behavioral health diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents.
