Biography
Dr. Babu completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin and earned his MD at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed a residency in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology at Cleveland Clinic in 2014 and a fellowship in Hematopathology at the University of New Mexico in 2015. He was a pathologist and medical director in Maryland before returning to UNM in 2018. He is currently the director of clinical flow cytometry at TriCore Reference Laboratories. Dr. Babu serves as the program director for the hematopathology fellowship and director of the hematopathology rotation for residents and medical students.
Personal Statement
I am board certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology. I enjoy an active role in the in-house and consultation hematopathology and cytogenetics services, as well as in the instruction of fellows, residents, and medical students. One of my particular interests is the advancement of flow cytometry as a diagnostic tool. I am also a member of various pathology organizations including the Society of Hematopathology and the International Clinical Cytometry Society.
