Biography
Amy Bachyrycz earned a PharmD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2004) from the University of Connecticut, College of Pharmacy in Storrs, Connecticut and completed a General Pharmacy Practice Residency (2005) at the New Mexico VA HealthCare System in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Personal Statement
Community Pharmacy has important advantages to our patients, the community pharmacist is at the forefront and can fill in the gaps of care for many public health concerns such as opioid abuse and misuse, latent tuberculosis, teen pregnancy, and smoking. With the advancement of our community pharmacist skillset, this valuable position can provide expertise and care in even more clinical arenas. I have focused much of my career as Shared Faculty in writing new laws, regulations, and trainings such that our community pharmacist can provide these extended services in a safe and effective manner, resulting in increased access and better patient health outcomes for our patients and our state.

Research and Scholarship
Bachyryczâs research has been in the public health field, with a focus on community pharmacy outcomes. Her current interests include: pharmacist prescriptive authority such as: tobacco cessation, hormonal contraception, and naloxone pharmacist prescribing, medication therapy management, patient adherence measures, patient satisfaction scores, and other public health measures significant in community pharmacy.
