Biography

Dr. Borrego received a B.S. degree in Pharmacy (1989) and a MS Degree in Hospital Pharmacy Administration (1995) from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with a major in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmacoeconomics /Social and Administrative Sciences) and minor in Educational Psychology (1998) from The University of Arizona, College of Pharmacy.

Personal Statement

Dr. Borrego is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences. He is the College of Pharmacy's Director of Graduate Studies and serves as the Co-Director of Investigator Development Core for the NIH-NIMHD, Specialized Centers of Excellence Grant (U-54).

Dr. Borrego maintains an active research program in three primary areas: 1) applied pharmacoeconomics/health outcomes research, 2) pharmacy profession and practice/clinical study outcomes and 3) scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL) around pharmacy and interprofessional education. Dr. Borrego also serves as a mentor for MS and PhD students in the College of Pharmacy's Pharmacoeconomics, Epidemiology, Pharmaceutical Policy and Outcomes Research (PEPPOR) Graduate Program.
