Biography

Botero-Tompkins joined Project ECHO in May 2022, shortly before taking on the role of Director of New Mexico Programs in February 2023.

She is a diversity, equity and inclusion health care leader with extensive experience in coalition building, policy promotion, workforce development and strategic planning.

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Botero-Tompkins has a wealth of experience in nonprofit, for-profit and academic health organizations, ranging from La Plazita Institute, a community organization focused on vulnerable youth and families, to Presbyterian Health Services, operator of eight New Mexico hospitals and a health insurance plan.

She is passionate about Project ECHO’s mission and preventing inequities of care through the democratization of knowledge.
