Personal Statement
I first came to New Mexico at the age of 12 when my mother took a job with the Indian Health Service in Gallup. I have come to love this beautiful state with its eternal sunshine, big blue skies and green chile. When I'm not operating, I love to be outdoors cycling, hiking or skiing.
As one of only four fellowship-trained head and neck oncologists in New Mexico, I have been fortunate to have gained considerable expertise in the treatment of surgical disorders of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. I was named the Director of Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery at UNM in 2018, and one of my first projects was to work on establishing New Mexico's first (and only) multi-disciplinary Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery Program at the UNM Cancer Center. Other areas of clinic expertise include surgical resection and reconstruction of head and neck cancers.
