Biography
Dr. Burns received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego, a Master of Science degree in Physiology from Georgetown University, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico and joined the Division of Hospital Medicine in 2016.
Personal Statement
I enjoy academic hospital medicine and medical education. I currently am the Vice Section Chief for Faculty Development in the Division of Hospital Medicine and the Director of Continuing Medical Education for UNM SOM's Office of Continuous Professional Learning. I also serve on three committees in two national organizations including Society of Hospital Medicine Academic Committee and Chapter Support Committee and American College of Physicians Education Content Validation Committee. I also serve as the SHM District 10 Chair.
