Biography
Dr. Chavez is originally from New Mexico and returned to work at University of New Mexico in 2018 to serve her community. Dr. Chavez treats a broad variety of vascular and venous disease with a special interest in endovascular peripheral arterial disease revascularization and carotid disease. Dr. Chavez strives to develop a collaborative relationship with her patients to determine the best treatment options.
Dr. Chavez has strong interest in outreach services and extending subspecialty care to rural areas of New Mexico. Education and Research interests include community-based education, frontline community healthcare worker education, and telemedicine. Dr. Chavez currently serves as the medical director of the Vascular Surgery Clinic and hopes to expand her leadership among healthcare organizations in New Mexico to better serve New Mexicanâs healthcare needs. In her spare time, Dr. Chavez enjoys spending time with family, running marathons and running the Sandia foothill trails, floating a SUP in the Rio Grande, and mountain bike riding.
