Personal Statement
Research:
1. Spine Outcomes and Perioperative Medical Clearance: Evaluation of the patient's medical needs pre-operatively and pre-rehabilitation efforts. This is particularly interesting to me for deformity surgical treatment.
2. Computer modeling for proximal screw placement: Evaluation as it pertains to proximal junction disease. Important to minimize adjacent level disease. Working with engineering department.
3. Irrlflow and treatment of intraparenchymal abscesses: Looking to decrease length of antibiotic treatment and length of hospital stay.
4. Traumatic Brain Injury: Evaluation of compliance as pertains to autoregulation.
5. Blunt cerebrovascular injury and ultra-early treatment with aspirin along with 3 months follow-up for clearance of luminal irregularity.
Practice:
- Critical Care with emphasis on traumatic brain injury and blunt cerebrovascular injury. Recent adaptation of SjVO2 monitoring for TBI patients.
- Treatment of Adult Spinal Deformity.
