Biography
Karen R. Craig, MD, is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist who specializes in breast imaging. Dr. Craig served on active duty in the US Navy for 27 years. During that time, she received her B.S. in Biological Sciences with honors from California State University, Hayward, CA in 1996. In 2001, she graduated from the School of Medicine at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences with her Doctor of Medicine degree. She completed a general surgery internship at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA in 2002. She later completed diagnostic radiology residency in 2009 at the National Capital Consortium, National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. Dr. Craig worked as a diagnostic radiologist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL where she retired from the Navy in 2013. She went on to complete a one-year breast imaging fellowship in 2016 at Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL. Since 2016, she has practiced at the University of New Mexico, Department of Radiology as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Craig is a member of multiple radiologic organizations, including American Board of Radiology and Society of Breast Imaging. She loves her work as a breast imaging radiologist and is committed to providing the highest level of care to her patients.
