Personal Statement
I joined CHEK-D in April 2024. I graduated from Highlands University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. I worked as a Bilingual Forensic Interviewer with a nonprofit organization for 3.5 years. I worked with a range of clients, including victims, witnesses and suspects. I am trained to use trauma-informed care techniques. I am bilingual and have experience conducting non-suggestive interviews in both English and Spanish to collect important information for child abuse investigations. I am passionate about advocating for people who do not have the knowledge of available resources or are learning to speak up for themselves. I’m excited to learn from and work with a multidisciplinary team to help address kidney health disparities. I am enthusiastic about improving health equity in New Mexico.
