Biography

Deubel received a Bachelor of Art in Fine Art from Western Washington University in 1998 and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of Health Sciences in 2010. She worked in urogynecology and women's health from 2010-2012 and in pediatric gastroenterology since 2012.

Courses Taught

I have been the Instructor of Record and main lecturer for the PA Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine I-IV series courses since starting in 2018. This series covers the general health and development of infants, children and adolescents, and disorders of the cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, gastrointestinal, neurological systems. I have been the instructor of record for PA Clinical Seminar since 2021, which is an introductory course covering topics related to the PA profession and patient care and population health in New Mexico. This year I was named the block chair of the PA Gastrointestinal, Nutrition and Metabolism block, working with the Medical School instructor during this PA/MD integrated block. This year I also administered the second half of PA Pharmacology II course and was named instructor of record. I taught PA Dermatology from 2018 through 2023 and will be the Instructor of Record again in 2025. Over the years I have facilitated PA and MD students in Clinical Skills (Doctoring) small groups and PA students in Clinical Reasoning small groups. I was the instructor of record for PA Clinical Skills II in 2021, which covers Doctoring 1B (integrated), Clinical Reasoning and Continuity Clinic. I was the PA instructor of record for several PA/MD integrated courses, coordinating with the Medical School instructors and administering PA exams: Clinical Morphology in 2018-2019; Concepts in Pathology and Tissue Morphology in 2018-2019; and Hematology in 2022.
