Biography
Dodd received a BS in Pharmacy from Purdue University in 1994 and a PharmD from the University of New Mexico in 1997. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM in 1998.
Personal Statement
Dodd is an expert in the area of geriatric pharmacotherapy and is a pharmacist clinician with prescriptive authority at the UNM Senior Health Clinic, providing chronic disease and medication management for older adults. She oversees a small consultant team. She is driven to improve the clinical care and outcomes of older adults as a part of the interprofessional team. She also share this geriatric knowledge with the next generation as the primary instructor for geriatric clinical content throughout the UNM PharmD program and interprofessional healthcare training programs.
She is passionate about advancing the practice of pharmacy, including advanced practice pharmacist models and the necessary operational elements to develop and sustains these models, including billing and reimbursement for these services. She is a past-President of the New Mexico Society of Health-System Pharmacists and past-Chair of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Council on Public Policy and the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners. She was elected in 2021 to serve a 3-year term as the ASHP Chair of the House of Delegates and member of the Board of Directors. She continually advocates for the profession at the local, state, and national level.

Research and Scholarship
Dodd's research has focused on the development and impact of new clinical practice models involving the pharmacist as an essential member of the team, including pharmacists in advanced roles such as the pharmacist clinician. She also has an interest in the scholarship of innovative teaching methods with a focus on geriatric interprofessional education.
