Biography
Dr. Amber Dukes (she/her) is a health policy researcher and co-director of the New Mexico Center for Health Policy (NMCHP), specializing in Medicaid policy analysis. Dr. Dukes trained in health psychology and public health epidemiology and policy at UNM. Her graduate work focused on suicidality in sexual minority adolescents. Dr. Dukes has experience in public health research, policy evaluation, and cross-sector collaboration, with a proven track record of working with New Mexico Medicaid, managed care organizations (MCOs), community-based organizations, and government agencies. Through her role at NMCHP, she has played a pivotal role in conducting evaluations of state Medicaid policies, fostering partnerships to drive impactful change, and delivering actionable insights to policymakers. She also teaches introductory biostatistics in the MPH program.
