Biography
Amanda Dunn, DNP, RN, FNP-C, is a clinician educator-assistant professor with the undergraduate programs at the University of New Mexico's College of Nursing and a board certified family nurse practitioner. She has experience providing primary care services in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and hematology/oncology services in Farmington, New Mexico. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, her nursing career focused on both the inpatient and outpatient pediatric populations.
Amanda is actively serving as the Health Science's Interprofessional Education (IPE) Student Outreach Director, the IPE Coordinator for the College of Nursing, and is the Governance Chair of the Gamma Sigma Chapter. She additionally holds memberships within the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments, the Nurses Climate Challenge, the Planetary Health Alliance, and the New Mexico Professionals for Climate Action.
She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Creighton University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico. Her doctoral project focused on the integration of a clinical decision support tool within the electronic medical record to improve the assessment and treatment of pediatric ADHD in rural communities. More recently, she is focusing her studies on interprofessional education and planetary health.
