Biography

My responsibilities have evolved at the PA Program to lead several blocks of study for the PA students. My focus is in helping the PA students learn how to approach the patient and to remember to consider all that could be contributing to the patient’s health or disease. I am also very interested in preserving the Program’s history and helping welcome new faculty and staff members as they join our team. As a senior faculty member, my role as a mentor and support to current students and to alumni is growing over time. I greatly enjoy helping people succeed and achieve their goals in education and in clinical practice.

I have a strong interest in preventive medicine, orthopedics, sports medicine, and primary care. My goal is to help patients maintain or attain healthy lifestyles in order to prevent disease or the progression of disease. My educational interests, therefore, are both in patient education (in clinic) and in guiding the PA students (in class) toward being well-rounded and attentive listeners as clinicians.
