Biography

Francesca García received a B.A. degree in Linguistics and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Spanish (2013) from Carleton College. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree (2018) from University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Following her MD degree she completed a 5-year residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital (2023) and a 1-year fellowship in Neonatal Neurology (2024) at University of California, San Francisco.

Personal Statement

García is passionate about neuroprotection and neuroenrichment for newborns with history of perinatal brain injury including seizures, stroke, and HIE as well as other conditions such as prematurity. She is involved in fetal, neonatal, and childhood care to serve New Mexico families longitudinally.
