Personal Statement
I am a General Pediatrician with a specific interest in child abuse prevention. In addition, through working with a number of refugee families, I have become interested in building resiliency and increasing health literacy in this population. I am networking with community partners to develop prevention programs and parenting programs in my community to achieve the above goals. Through the use of research on adverse childhood events, toxic stress, and resiliency, I aim to develop a prevention program that involves screening families for high risk situations that may lead to child abuse, connect interested families with community resources, and improve the quality of life for families and their children.
