Biography
Biography Dr. Mary Grebenc is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She joined UNM in April 2023, bringing broad clinical and leadership experience in body and cardiothoracic imaging.
Dr. Grebenc earned her M.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed an internship in general surgery at UNM. She completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, followed by a fellowship in Body Imaging at the National Naval Medical Center. She augmented her clinical expertise with an M.B.A. in Healthcare Management, from Regis University.
Dr. Grebenc is an honorably discharged, decorated veteran, who achieved the rank of Navy Commander. Her military career included leadership roles in radiology, as Section Head of Ultrasound at the National Naval Medical Center and Head of Radiology at Naval Hospital Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. She participated in research in radiologic-pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and in cancer imaging at the National Cancer Institute of the NIH.
Before returning to New Mexico, Dr. Grebenc was a partner in a busy radiology private practice in San Diego, during which she served as Vice President of the radiology group and Vice Chair of Radiology at Sharp Grossmont Hospital.

My professional mission is to deliver high-quality imaging services that positively impact patient outcomes in cardiothoracic and body imaging. I am passionate about cultivating a culture of lifelong learning, while championing the next generation of radiologists.
