Personal Statement
After fellowship, I joined the pathology department at the University of New Mexico HSC with the aims of teaching, research, and clinical service. My philosophy in teaching trainees centers in combining clinical reasoning with technical gross/microscopic skills. My research in breast cancer investigates the relationship between needle core biopsy characteristics and outcomes of breast conserving surgery. General surgical pathology is the way I trained during residency and fellowship, and, still, the way I currently practice at UNM.
