Personal Statement

My goal as a health care provider has always been to expand access to midwifery care for underserved populations, and I am interested in long-term relocation to Albuquerque to pursue this goal.

During my time at Yale, I developed a strong foundation in midwifery principles, clinical skills, and a deep understanding of the unique healthcare needs of childbearing families. I have functioned as an independent care provider co-managing intrapartum care in a high-risk, high-volume setting, as well as in a fast-paced outpatient clinic.

Before nursing school, I worked as a birth assistant for several homebirth practices in Brooklyn, NY and as a full-time birth/postpartum doula for five years. This background led me to approach midwifery training through the lens of reproductive justice.

I aspire to provide care that upholds midwifery values and meets the needs of diverse communities.
