Biography

Dr. Yakes Jimenez received a B.S. in human nutrition and an M.S. in public health nutrition (2003) from Case Western Reserve University and a PhD in epidemiology from the University of California, Davis (2010). She completed a public health dietetic internship (2003) and a postdoc with the Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Santé in Burkina Faso (2009-2011).

Personal Statement

I am passionate about public health. One focus area of my research is to test interventions to better prevent and treat chronic disease in high risk and underserved adult and pediatric populations. A second focus area of my research is to identify appropriate interventions to improve food and nutrition security and diet quality in low- and middle-income countries and underserved communities in the United States.
