Biography
Dr. Guerrero is grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended the University of New Mexico as part of the combined BA/MD program and obtained a bachelors degree in Biochemistry and then entered medical school at the University of New Mexico. She graduated with her MD in 2018, and then matched into a pediatric residency at Duke University Health System. She completed a 3 year pediatric residency and following completion of residency returned to New Mexico to fulfill her dream of serving patients in the state of New Mexico. She now works full time as a Pediatric Hospitalist, and is thrilled to be back at UNM and looks forward to where here career will take her.
Personal Statement
I have always been interested in teaching and medical education and became passionate about adult learning in medical school and residency where learners are fundamental to patient care and the future of medicine. I have completed multiple formal courses on medical education and adult learning theory, and I won the Pediatric Resident Teaching Award for the 2020-2021 academic year. I am thrilled to be a Pediatric Wards Rotation director Role and hope.
