Biography

Amar B. Joshi received a B.A. in Biology in 2001 at Johns Hopkins University. He earned his M.D. degree in 2006 at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Following his M.D. degree he completed a one-year Transitional Medicine Internship, Ophthalmology Residency, and a one-year Ophthalmology, Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery Fellowship.

Areas of Specialty

Comprehensive evaluation and management of diseases of the eyelids and ocular adnexa, orbit and lacrimal system. Functional, reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid surgery including dermatochalasis and ptosis repair, ectropion/entropion repair and excision/reconstruction of skin cancers around the eye. Diseases of the orbit including orbital fracture repair, orbital tumor management and medical and surgical treatment of thyroid-associated orbitopathy. Repair of tear-drainage problems including nasolacrimal duct obstruction.
