Biography

Dr. Kashiwagi received his MD from Sapporo Medical University, Japan, in 2007. He completed fellowships in Obstetric Anesthesia at Cleveland Clinic, OH, and Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine at the University of Virginia.

Personal Statement

Through his fellowships, he acquired expertise in pain management during labor, obstetric care, and post-surgical recovery using techniques such as epidurals, spinal anesthesia, and ultrasound-guided nerve blocks. His passion is to perform these procedures with the highest accuracy, precision, and—most importantly—safety, guided by the latest scientific evidence.He also has an interest in Acute Pain Service, where patients with complex pain conditions—such as those undergoing major surgeries, experiencing severe trauma, or managing chronic opioid use—receive multimodal analgesia. He is committed to serving the people of NM and is dedicated to providing high-quality education to anesthesiology residents.
