Biography

Knowles oversees Project ECHO's national programs.

Born in South Korea, Knowles came to the United States as an infant and grew up outside of Chicago. She studied Sociology and Anthropology with a focus in Women’s Studies before moving to New Mexico in 1998. 

Knowles’ interests in caregiving and equity in the workplace for women launched a decade of work in aging, long-term services and community-based living.  

Prior to joining Project ECHO, Knowles served as the policy director and deputy cabinet secretary for the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department before becoming that agency’s acting cabinet secretary in 2017.   

She is committed to Project ECHO’s mission, and continuing her service to the people in New Mexico and around the world.
