Biography
Christopher McGrew received a B.S degree in Zoology (1980) from Louisiana State University. He earned his MD degree (1984) from Louisiana State School of Medicine - Shreveport. He completed his Family Medicine residency (1987) at Lousiana State University Health Science Center- Shreveport. He completed his one year Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship (1989) at Michigan State University Health Sciences Center. He has been a faculty physician at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center since 1990 and is the director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship, director of primary care sports medicine electives for residents and med students and assistant team physician for University of New Mexico Athletics.
Personal Statement
The desire to provide collaborative care to all types of athletes at all levels/abilities has been my passion since before the start of my medical training and has been the primary focus of my clinical work and scholarly activity over my 31 year professional career.
