Biography

Dr. Moore received a B.A. degree in neurosciences (2005) from Colorado College and earned her Doctor of Medicine Degree (2010) from the University of Colorado. Following the completion of medical school, she completed general surgery residency at the University of New Mexico, during which she completed an additional year of translational research. She then completed a 2-year fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania. She joined the UNM faculty as a member of the Division of Acute Care Surgery in 2018.

Personal Statement

Dr. Moore is an active member of the Division of Acute Care Surgery, where her clinical practice encompasses the entire breadth of Trauma Surgery, Emergency General Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. Dr. Moore is a leader in surgical education, currently serving as the Program Director for the ACGME Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and AAST-accredited Acute Care Surgery Fellowship. Her clinical and research interests are in hemorrhagic shock, massive transfusion, and trauma-induced coagulopathy. She developed the whole blood trauma resuscitation program at UNM and collaborates with the Transfusion Medicine Division to investigate outcomes after massive transfusion for trauma patients. She is an active member of AAST, ACS, EAST, APDS, and other national organizations, and serves on multiple national committees. In her free time, Dr. Moore enjoys running, hiking, and exploring New Mexico with her husband and two children.
