Personal Statement
Infectious Disease is a specialty of generalities. Not only do we not specialize in any single organ system, we must coordinate between all other medical specialties and all social modalities in providing care for our patients, and the population as a whole. I believe ID must provide this framework that examines all of science, society, and history in understanding our role in improving health for communities.
