Personal Statement

Dr. Paramasivam is a passionate molecular biologist and neuroscientist focused on the complex connections between metabolic diseases and neurological dysfunction, microplastics uptake and mechanism in brain cells and diabetes and pain signaling. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Madras and is an Adjunct Research Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico. His innovative research employs preclinical models to investigate pain mechanisms and therapeutic strategies, including neuroglial modulation. He has identified microRNAs as valuable non-invasive biomarkers for early diabetic nephropathy and advocates for lifestyle interventions to enhance metabolic health and neuroprotection. As a guest editor for multiple journals, he promotes collaboration in biomedical research, aiming to advance personalized medicine in diabetes and neurological disorders through cutting-edge molecular insights.
