Biography

Lee Pfaff started his journey to medicine at Rochester Institute of Technology where he received a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences (2009). He then went on to Boston University receiving a M.A. in Anatomy and Neurobiology (2013). Lee then returned to New York where he received his M.D. from SUNY Upstate Medical University (2018) and stayed on to do his 4 year Neurology Residency (2022) completing his last year as the Chief Resident for Inpatient Neurology. Following residency he moved to the University of New Mexico Hospital where he completed his 2 year Neurocritical Care Fellowship before staying on as faculty and becoming the Quality Safety Officer for the Department of Neurology.

Personal Statement

Since starting residency Lee was fascinated with Critical Care and even contemplated leaving Neurology to do an Internal Medicine residency to do Pulmonary Critical Care. After experiencing the Neuroscience ICU he realized he could have the best of both worlds. Since then he has strived to deliver patient's evidence based medicine based on the most updated guidelines while advocating for safety in the workplace.
