Biography
Dr. Pratesi is an Assistant Tenure-track Professor at the College of Population Health with interdisciplinary expertise in environmental health, and environmental epidemiology. She holds a Doctoral degree in Health Sciences from the University of Brasília (Brazil), a Master's in Water Resources, a Master of Community and Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico, and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Eckerd College.
Her doctoral and master’s training focused on environmental and community health issues. Her research expertise includes environmental health, environmental epidemiology, social determinants of health, health disparities, health equity, and population health, with a focus on vulnerable and underserved populations.
Her scholarly work spans environmental exposures and health outcomes, including environmental and microplastic pollution, quality of life and public health policy, and student success and well-being. Her work bridges environmental systems, health equity, and population health outcomes.
