Biography
Vinay Rai, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a professor and Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the UNM School of Medicine. Additionally, he is Vice-Chair of Quality and Patient Safety in The Department of Surgery. Dr. Rai is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He completed his colon and rectal surgery fellowship at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago in June 2012 and his residency in General Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in June 2011.
