Biography

Dr. Ray received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of New Mexico in 2006. Following her Pharm. D. degree she completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at the University of New Mexico Hospitals followed by a PGY2 Specialty residency in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy.

Personal Statement

As a pharmacist clinician, I have the opportunity to practice in a state with one of the most progressive pharmacy practice models in the country. Providing compassionate and patient-centered care to individuals living with diabetes is my priority. I hope to expand care for these patients in our state through the training of pharmacy residents and students in my clinical practice site.

Courses Taught

I teach the diabetes series in the integrated pharmacotherapy course as well as a corresponding diabetes lab. I am the IOR for the P2 spring aspects of patient care lab. I am also the co-IOR for the pharmacology series within the Physician Assistant program at UNM. My role in this program is to coordinate our clinical faculty to teach a pharmacotherapy lecture within their specialty area to the PA program. I also teach various lectures within the PA curriculum.

Research and Scholarship

Dr. Ray?s research interest has been in the ambulatory care and outpatient pharmacy settings determining the impact of pharmacist interventions on patient outcomes and perceptions.
