Personal Statement

Dr Schlough's interest in medicine began during his Peace Corps experience in Mali, West Africa. During his subsequent training, he focused on primary care and specifically the care of older adults. With more medicines, specialists, functional and cognitive impairments, and care coordination needs, seniors face an increasingly confusing and complex system of care. Dr Schlough looks to partner with patients and families as they navigate the ups and downs of their health in their older years with a focus on quality of life, however that individual may define it. His clinical interests include geriatrics, outpatient procedures, and resident education. His research interests are around system payment reform.
