Personal Statement

I am originally from Iowa. I was raised in a nursing home; my father ran long-term care facilities and I was a constant fixture, volunteering with the residents.

I rode my bicycle with 50 lb. panniers into New Mexico in 1988. My husband and I rode and camped for 3 months, traveling from Anza Borrego Desert State Park, across Arizona and into New Mexico, and landing in Las Cruces. We finished our undergraduate degrees at New Mexico State University.

I have more 25 years' experience as a medical social worker in the fields of hospice and oncology.

Areas of Specialty

I support gastrointestinal, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, prostate, renal, bladder, testicular and surgical specialties and am well-versed in end-of-life issues and gerontology.
