Biography

Dr. Shin completed his training in Neurosurgery at Rush University in Chicago, where part of his residency was completed at Cook County Hospital. After completion of his training, he started his career at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Department of Neurosurgery, for three years. Dr. Shin decided to move on to private practice in Tacoma, Washington, for twelve years where he was partial owner of Neospine Outpatient spine surgery center. In 2014, Dr. Shin decided to come back to academic neurosurgery at University of New Mexico where he was given an opportunity to learn and further advance Endoscopic Spine Surgery as Director of Anthony T. and Eileen K. Yeung Center for Endoscopic Spine Surgery.

Dr. Shin has served as Interim Chair of Neurosurgery and Residency Program Director.
