Biography
Michael Conor Simmons, MD is a practicing radiologist at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Simmons graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University, Tempe AZ with a Bachelor of Science in 2001. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2007 at Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, NE. As a resident at the University of New Mexico, Dr. Simmons received the Resident Research Presentation award and the Resident of the Year award in 2011. In 2013, he completed his fellowship with a specialty in Musculoskeletal and Trauma Radiology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Simmons began his career in the Department of Radiology, at the University of New Mexico as an Assistant Professor. He served as the Musculoskeletal Radiology Chief from 2015-2016 and he is currently the Emergency Radiology Chief.
Personal Statement
Dr. Simmons has conducted numerous lectures for residents, such as MRI safety teaching, Musculoskeletal, Emergency and Trauma Imaging, and Emergency Medicine. He has contributed to the curriculum development, which helps prepare first year radiology residents for call duties. Dr. Simmons enjoys mentoring incoming residents and is passionate about helping the residents evolve their skills in emergency and trauma imaging.
