Personal Statement
My clinical focus has always been to improve functional outcomes of my patients and their families, Working in both the inpatient and outpatient settings has enabled me to be instrumental in the progress of my patients throughout their growth and development as they transition into young adults. As they have grown so have I as a Clinician with goals of optimizing their functional outcomes has required that I learn procedures e.g. Botox, Intrathecal Baclofen Pump Management and other skills required to management the neurological and medical complexities that frequently accompany this patient population.
Provision of state of the art rehabilitation care and expansion of services, through individual clinics, and multidisciplinary collaborations has always been at the forefront of the my vision for the division.
Mentoring and early exposure to the different areas of medicine has been one of my passions, my involvement in the BAMD program is an example of this. Now with a PM&R residency my involvement in training program enables me to have an impact on the next generation of clinicians with a strong emphasis placed on Peds PM&R which is in need of PM&R providers.
