Biography

Dr. Tomedi is an Assistant Professor with the College of Population Health at the University of New Mexico. In addition to teaching two advanced epidemiology classes, she manages the research team on the Research, Evaluation, Data, and Insights (REDI) team at Project ECHO at the University of New Mexico. She leads research projects and program evaluation, including evaluating an ECHO program to decrease burnout among behavioral health clinicians and another to address adverse childhood experiences among youth to prevent opioid use. She earned her doctorate in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh and her MPH with a concentration in epidemiology from the University of New Mexico. She is a Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists Applied Epidemiology Fellow Alumni and was the New Mexico Department of Health Substance Abuse Epidemiology Section Head and Alcohol Epidemiologist for five years.
