Biography
Waln, a native New Mexican, serves as the chief administrative officer for Project ECHO. She oversees ECHO’s human resources, finance, administration, organizational development, joint accreditation and education work. She ensures financial accountability and maintains compliance with federal, state and university standards. Waln also leads ECHO’s initiatives in values-based structure, work culture and operations.
Waln has more than 25 years of experience in financial management and organizational development. Before joining ECHO, she served as an accounting consultant for UnitedHealth Group, where she helped stand up the finance operations at Optum Behavioral Health. She also served as the controller of Todd Company Public Relations firm and as accounting manager for Presbyterian Health Services.
Waln is passionate about her work, guiding and supporting ECHO’s values initiative. She is dedicated helping everyone on the Project ECHO team reach their potential and feel valued.
