Biography
Ward earned a B.S. in Biology (2001), an M.A. (2013) and a PhD (2021) in Educational Psychology from the University of New Mexico. She also earned an M.B.A. (2005) from the University of Phoenix. She has served in various roles in Student Affairs at the College of Pharmacy since 2004 and is currently serving as the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.
Personal Statement
My research, teaching and professional work has all been geared toward students. I have a passion for students, helping them learn and understanding their learning. As an administrator, I work closely with students, helping them succeed and guiding them through their academic paths. I have a passion for student learning and researching motivational factors for students. In the professional development courses series, I have the opportunity to engage students in raising their self-awareness for their own learning and motivation, while also increasing their professionalism and gaining tools for success as a professional and lifelong learner.

Research and Scholarship
Ward's research interests focus on motivation for learning. She is particularly interested in how mindset and goal orientation can affect learning. Her current interests include motivational factors for pharmacy students' learning and achievement as well as professional identity development.
