Biography
Weitzen received her B.S. degree in Mathematics (1985) from Union College. She earned a Masters in Health Administration (1988) from Cornell University, a MS in Biostatistics (1998) from University of Massachussets-Amherst, and PhD in Epidemiology (2003) from Brown University. She received her MD from Tel Aviv University in 2012, and completed her family medicine residency at the University of New Mexico in 2015.
Personal Statement
I am interested in substance use disorder and treatment. This interest stemmed for an early experience learning about medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. This led to my current research pursuits into neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome and recovery for pregnant and postpartum women with opioid use disorder.
