Biography

Dr Wiggins is an Alumnus of the University of New Mexico (BS-Health Education, 1978), and received graduate degrees in Epidemiology from the University of Alabama-Birmingham (MSPH, 1983) and the University of Washington (PhD, 1999). Dr. Wiggins is Director and Principal Investigator for the New Mexico Tumor Registry.

Personal Statement

Dr. Wiggins has over 40 years of experience in cancer surveillance and epidemiology and has a strong interest in cancer among underserved populations, especially Hispanics and American Indians. He is intimately familiar with the structure, use, and interpretation of data from central cancer registries, and has accrued experience in combining cancer registry records with multiple data sources for the purposes of scientific research. He has collaborated with numerous investigators to successfully conduct population-based research utilizing data from central cancer registries.
