Biography
Rob Williams MD, MPH is the Director of the Rural and Urban Underserved Program at the School of Medicine. He is Distinguished Professor of Family and Community Medicine and a Gold Headed Cane Award recipient. [RLW1] He has held a variety of clinical and research management positions throughout his career, and his research and publications have centered on the themes of health disparities and the intersection of public health and primary care. Before coming to UNM, he worked for 8 years on the Navajo Reservation, a year for the Peace Corps/United Nations in Western Samoa, 8 years at an inner city community health center, and for a year as a Fulbright Senior Scholar in a periurban South African community.
